ROADS & HIGHWAYS

Remember: Slow For The Cone Zone

Road work on Highway 96 has width restrictions of 12 feet will be in place for the rest of the week. Once the work is complete in that area between mile marker 4 and 10, road crews will pull back to mile marker 0 and head east to mile marker 26.  Here’s more information .

If you’re heading to Salida or in that direction, there is alternating traffic as road maintenance operations crews by mile marker 237-240. This takes place until Friday 5pm.

If you’re really traveling…

Delta & Gunnison Counties — A safety closure is in place for a section of Colorado Highway 133 located north of Paonia. The highway is closed in both directions from mile markers 14-19. The safety closure is due to a large sinkhole and road damage. Motorists are asked to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary. CDOT is pursuing temporary ways of safely reopening the roadway, but those options will be limited due to ongoing spring runoff and nearby terrain.

Please try to gather information about weather forecasts and anticipated travel impacts and current road conditions prior to hitting the road – visit cotrip.org
