Springtime snowpacks present a variety of challenges, and one of the most significant hazards is the shift from supportable to unsupportable snow as temperatures warm. Because of this, Search & Rescue strongly recommends that anyone who plans to hike in snowy conditions should come prepared with snowshoes or touring skis.
