HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK – A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening along the Continental Divide from the La Garita Range, north into the Central Mountains. Wind gusts near 40 mph and lightning are the main thunderstorm risks.
Critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon and evening for much of the region due to gusty winds and low humidity values. Critical fire weather conditions will also be possible on Wednesday for much of the region.
Although the fire ban has been lifted, Custer County Sheriff and local fire departments will continue to monitor recent conditions. In the event September brings dryer weather, be prepared to see a return of the fire ban. And please continue to remember fire safety.
