Summer in The Park Concert Series returns for a 10th season.  Concerts are Sundays 2:00 – 4:30 at Garett Carlson’s Feed Store Amphitheater, 116 N. 2nd Street in Westcliffe. Admission is free!

PLEASE NOTE:  Shade is at a premium this year … please bring hats and sunscreen. Don’t forget your chairs! Refreshments will be available.

Part Time Volunteer Manager Wanted!

KLZR 91.7 Community Radio is seeking a part-time Volunteer Manager to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who are essential to helping the KLZR Board manage its radio station, host events and communicate with donors and supporters. The Volunteer Manager will work independently and in a team setting to help the radio station to grow.
Description
Primary responsibilities include developing and supporting the volunteer program; regular communication with volunteers; volunteer recruitment for station events and other special projects; overseeing communication with donors, underwriters and sponsors. Some data entry and database management and a variety of other administrative tasks involved in supporting volunteers running the radio station.
Schedule
A flexible schedule of 12 hours per week – day time hours and occasional weekend hours – is needed. Work can be completed using combination of KLZR office and equipment and contractor’s own office and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic skills with Word, Excel, database software
Experience in education, community service, volunteer coordination
Motivation to build and strengthen our community radio station
Lived and worked in rural setting
Contract Fee
$15.00/hour, paid as deliverables completed, as invoiced
Essential Tasks:
Management of Volunteers:
Develop, implement, and maintain a successful recruitment and retention volunteer program; monitor volunteer satisfaction.
Prepare job descriptions for volunteers and maintain volunteer manual
Manage volunteers for events and special projects.
Interview and assess volunteers for specific needs; work closely with Board to ensure volunteer coordination strategic goals are being met.
Monitor and assess the need for volunteer services and suggest program improvements.
Maintain volunteer records and provide reports to the KLZR Board as needed.
Community Outreach:
Produce written marketing and outreach materials for volunteer recruitment.
Community cultivation to strengthen volunteer pool, volunteer recruitment events, partnerships, and general outreach.
Support Board with stewardship of radio donors, underwriters and sponsors.
General Management:
Onsite presence when appropriate for volunteer coordination, board meetings and community interaction.
General office support as needed.
